Overview

Some communities charge a small administrative or review fee for processing architectural requests. In addition, a brief inspection may occur after your project is completed to confirm that it matches the approved plans. This ensures compliance with community standards and helps maintain neighborhood consistency.

Architectural Review Fees

Depending on your association’s governing documents, a fee may be required for certain types of requests.
These fees cover administrative costs related to:

  • Reviewing project documentation

  • Communicating with the Architectural Committee and homeowners

  • Tracking approvals and maintaining project records

If a fee applies, it will be clearly stated when you submit your request through the PayHOA portal. The fee is billed directly to your homeowner account and can be paid online like any other charge.

Common examples:

  • Standard request fee: $25–$50

  • Large or complex project review fee: varies by association

If you’re unsure whether a fee applies, contact the Property Support Team before submitting your request.

Inspections After Approval

After your project is completed, the Property Support Team may perform a brief inspection or request photos to confirm the work matches the approved plans. This step ensures:

  • Materials and colors match what was submitted

  • Work was completed within approved boundaries

  • The finished project complies with the community’s design standards

Homeowners are encouraged to notify the Property Support Team once their project is finished to expedite the inspection and close the request.

Final Approvals and Documentation

Once the inspection is complete and everything is confirmed as approved, the request is marked “Completed” in the system.
You can view this status and any related documents in your PayHOA homeowner portal under Architectural Requests.

Keeping your project approved and documented protects you from potential future violations or resale issues.

Non-Compliance or Deviations

If a completed project differs from the approved plans, the homeowner will receive notice outlining what needs to be corrected. The Board or Architectural Committee may require modifications to bring the project into compliance. Prompt communication can usually resolve issues without penalties.
