Overview
Your HOA relies on homeowner volunteers to help lead and strengthen the community. Serving on a committee or running for the Board of Directors is a great way to contribute your time and expertise while helping maintain property values and improve neighborhood life.
Volunteering for a Committee
Homeowners can volunteer for various committees such as Architectural, Social, Landscape, or Finance. Committee members assist the Board by reviewing requests, offering recommendations, or organizing activities.
To volunteer for a committee:
Email the Board Team at board@yourhoahelp.com.
Include your full name, property address, and the committee you’re interested in joining.
Share a short note on why you’d like to participate or what experience you bring.
The Board will review your interest and confirm if there’s a current opening.
Committee terms and responsibilities may vary depending on your association’s governing documents.
Nominating Yourself or Someone Else for the Board
Elections for the Board of Directors typically occur at the association’s annual meeting. Homeowners are notified in advance with a call for nominations.
To submit a nomination:
Wait for the official “Call for Candidates” notice sent by the management company or Board.
Complete the nomination form provided in the notice or email your interest directly to board@yourhoahelp.com.
Include your name, property address, and a brief statement explaining why you would like to serve.
If nominating another homeowner, confirm that they are willing to serve before submitting their name.
Once nominations close, candidate names are added to the ballot for homeowner voting.
Qualifications and Expectations
Most associations require that nominees:
Are current on all assessments
Own property within the association
Are in good standing (no active violations)
Board members are expected to:
Attend meetings regularly
Review materials before each meeting
Make informed, fair decisions for the benefit of the entire community
Why Get Involved
Volunteering builds stronger communities and creates lasting connections among neighbors. Whether you join a committee or serve on the Board, your involvement directly contributes to the success of your association.
